Our recommendations for golf courses in and around Kouklia
While golf is fairly new to Cyprus, it now has some of the best golf courses in Europe. And even better, four of the five golf courses in Cyprus are within a short distance of your villa, with the best of them according to many – Secret Valley – just around the corner.
Temperatures are good for golfing year round, but if you want to avoid too much heat, aim for late September to May.

Secret Valley Golf Course
Your closest golf course – at a walkable distance even if you prefer it, with sidewalks and walking paths all the way to the course – is Secret Valley. As the name implies, it is nestled in a valley with gorgeous rock formations on all sides – the most scenic of the courses around Paphos.
Originally opened in 1996 and completely redesigned in 2013 (by Hans-Georg Erhardt, Snorri Vilhjalmsson, and Tony Jacklin), the course uses the natural topography of the valley to great effect, with dramatic teeing locations on the steep hillsides. While it is a bit on the shorter side it is an engaging and interesting course.

Aphrodite Hills Golf Course
Just 5 minutes away, you will find Aphrodite Hills resort with its stunning golf course, renovated in 2018, laid out around on either side of a ravine, with sea views throughout. Very well maintained. While somewhat more expensive than the other courses, it is well worth it. Large driving range, pitching green, and chipping green. Not easily walkable – buggy compulsory.

Elea Estate Golf Club
Just 15 minutes drive from the villa, you’ll find a third world-class golf course. Elea Estate has a challenging and varied course designed by Nick Faldo in a beautiful location in the foothills directly outside Paphos. Creative use of bunkers on several holes. Very friendly staff and good service.

Minthis Golf Club
Only 30 minutes away is the fourth golf club that we recommend you try – at Minthis you’ll find a beautifully laid out course recently renovated by Mackenzie & Ebert. Up at a higher elevation, it has stunning views of the Troodos Mountains.
